Recently retired five time Group 1 winner, Boban, has died after a paddock accident.

Chris Waller trained the formidable Sydney sprinter-miler, who burst out of the pack in the 2013-14 season, winning three Group 1s including the Bill Ritchie, Epsom, Moonga, and Emirates Stakes back-to-back.

Sometimes hard to catch, possibly his greatest win was the Moonga Stakes back in 2013, where he stumbled to be last at the turn before absolutely burning up the track, carrying 59.5kgs, to score a tight victory.

His record will read 37 starts for 11 wins, five of those Group 1 victories for $2.8 million in prize money, with jockey Glyn Scholfield on board for all Group 1 wins.
