From football hero to Hollywood star to infamous accused murderer: Muted tributes for OJ Simpson
The extraordinary episodes after his life as an American Football hero quite overshadowed the career of O.J. Simpson, who has died at the age…
Just minutes before the NFL draft, social media went into meltdown when a video of NFL prospect Laremy Tunsil smoking a bong was posted to his Twitter account.
Tunsil was expected to be as high as the No.1 pick with the Tennesse Titans, but the Titans instead traded to the No. 8 spot to take Michigan State offensive tackle Jack Conklin instead of Tunsil.
The Ole Miss offensive lineman was eventually picked up at the No. 13 spot by the Miami Dolphins.
No one expected Tunsil to go lower than three on the draft, and it has cost him an estimated $13 million on his contract as a result.
It appears the video did contribute to Tunsil’s slide down the draft, and teams did notice the post.
Tunsil says his account was hacked and the video and his Twitter account were both removed soon after. It also appeared that Tunsil’s Instagram account was hacked.
Laremy Tunsil said “someone hacked my twitter account” and that the video was “years ago.” He said he learned of it in the green room.

Hope for Laremy Tunsil’s sake he doesn’t still have a MySpace account lingering somewhere.

Now Laremy Tunsil’s instagram is posting messages with a “Coach” about paying his rent. Is Tunsil’s password “password”?

The draft follows a turbulent week for Tunsil who was sued by his stepfather Lindsey Miller. Miller sued for emotional distress by Tunsil for allegedly defaming his character and attacking him last year. Tunsil also sued Miller for allegedly attacking his mother.
Despite the controversy, the 21-year-old will bring huge potential to Miami’s roster after an impressive three-year college career.
Laremy Tunsil is projected as an instant impact player in the @NFL.https://t.co/UQnQG0dWh0
