Anything less than victory against Granada tonight will most likely see FC Barcelona relinquish the La Liga title to fierce rivals Real Madrid. Join The Roar for live scores from 1am AEST.

After being as much as 10 points ahead in the title race, only a point separates Barcelona from Real Madrid as the La Liga heads into its final match-day.

Barcelona lost their way considerably after the April international break and went on to lose three consecutive La Liga matches to bring Real back into the fight for domestic honours.

While the Catalan giants have managed to steady the ship somewhat, Barcelona still face a tricky ask against Granada away from home, knowing full well that a draw or a loss today will most likely hand Real a La Liga title they never looked like winning several months ago.

Indeed a successful La Liga title defence is the only thing that will add some shine to an otherwise disastrous season where Barcelona’s Champions League title defence collapsed at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

Real meanwhile have a Champions League final to look forward to on May 28, so even if they don’t win La Liga, they know full well that European success is far more valuable to their legacy than a domestic triumph.

With that said, Real’s present form and confidence should see them comfortably account for Deportivo La Coruna away from home so Barcelona simply must beat Granada to defend their La Liga title.

Thankfully for Barcelona, duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have rediscovered their form somewhat, with Suarez in particular going on a goal-scoring spree in recent weeks.

If Suarez and Messi can continue their recent strong form, it should be enough to see Barcelona secure the win required to defend their La Liga title, and provide small consolation to a disappointing season for the Catalan giants.
