Thursday is back already and tonight’s Round 11 clash sees the South Sydney Rabbitohs host the St George Illawarra Dragons. Both last start winners, both sides will be out to repeat last weekend’s efforts and cement a spot in the top eight. Join The Roar live from 7:50pm for all the action.

The Rabbitohs will start Greg Inglis at five-eighth again this weekend, with Cody Walker named on the wing at the expense of Michael Oldfield. Don’t be surprised to see Walker shift to the halves, Inglis to centre and Bryson Goodwin to the wing at some point during the night.

The Bunnies were resilient winners last weekend and will be looking for a similar defensive display to get the job done tonight. Sam Burgess was inspirational and earned the man-of-the-match award for his tireless hit-up and tackling efforts. His battle up front with the likes of Tyson Frizell and Mike Cooper will be one to watch.

The Dragons won a thriller at home last weekend, defeating Canberra in extra time. Joel Thompson is out suspended for his high hit on Blake Austin, with Jacob Host his replacement. Benji Marshall is also out, having succumbed to a hamstring injury, meaning Josh McCrone gets the nod at halfback. He needs to play and kick well if the Dragons are any hope.

Gareth Widdop has been out of form recently and I expect him to step up and perform tonight. The Englishman is nowhere near the player he was in Melbourne, and without Marshall, he will be the key man tonight.

What does work in the Dragons favour is that they have already knocked off the Bunnies this year. It was a sluggish affair in the wet, now known for the infamous last-gasp field goal attempt from Inglis with his side two points down.

The defensive display the Dragons put on that day was superb and the confidence they would have gained from the Round 3 encounter could benefit them tonight.

Prediction
ANZ doesn’t offer much in the way of home ground advantage, but for me the Rabbitohs will have too much firepower in attack. They’ve been the better of the two sides recently and may have turned a corner with last Friday’s win.
