Who will make the NSW Blues team for State of Origin 1? The answer to that question will be announced next Tuesday, but in the meantime let’s all speculate wildly about the State of Origin teams!

As is the custom on The Roar, we like to ask you every year who you think should represent the Blues. In the past, we’ve been pretty accurate in predicting who will be in the teams, so why not have another go at it?

This year, the NSW Blues team is up in the air. With Mitchell Pearce declaring that he isn’t ready to play State of Origin this year after his… ahem, indiscretions earlier this year and a later-than-usual return to club football, he’s probably not going to get the nod from Laurie Daley for the coveted halves position.

It’s also a time of transition for the NSW forward pack, with stalwarts Greg Bird, Luke Lewis, Ryan Hoffman, Beau Scott and Paul Gallen all under pressure to get a spot in the team.

Lewis will most likely not feature in calculations, as Boyd Cordner, Josh Jackson and others take over as preferred back row and bench candidates for Laurie Daley.

Whatever the case, and we could talk all day about who should be in which team, the time has come to vote and choose.

We will collate all the data on Monday and publish an article with the results for both the Blues and the Maroons teams ahead of the announcements on Tuesday, so make sure you check back in on our Rugby League page on those two days for the latest.
