The Canberra Raiders will be searching for consistency when they take on the Canterbury Bulldogs who can look to go equal with the top four. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 4pm (AEST).

Canberra might be coming into this Round 12 match off a big win over the New Zealand Warriors, but they have struggled for consistency so far this season and have won five of their 11 matches so far. Add a draw and they sit in eighth place.

They seem to produce performances that are either absolutely fantastic and make you think they might as well be premiership favourites, or performances that are dreadful and make you wonder why they aren’t in the same league as the Newcastle Knights.

Before that win over the Warriors last week they suffered a 16-12 loss to the St George Illawarra Dragons and a one-point loss to the Penrith Panthers.

The Bulldogs come into this match in fifth spot on the ladder, just one win outside the top four. They have been in some exceptionally good form since the representative round break having beaten the Wests Tigers and Sydney Roosters – both in convincing fashion.

While neither of those teams have had strong seasons, the way the Bulldogs were able to dismantle them in the forwards, and then back it up with a strong kicking game and plenty of creativity through the likes of Moses Mbye and Josh Reynolds was impressive.

In team news, Iosia Soliola and Shaun Fensom are back for the Raiders, with Josh Papalii out due to State of Origin and Clay Priest being named as the 18th man. The Bulldogs lose both David Klemmer and Josh Jackson to Origin, with Raymond Faitala-Mariner and Tim Browne into the starting side. Danny Fualolo and Adam Elliot have come onto the bench.

The Raiders must be controlled in their approach to this match. Aiden Sezer needs to keep their kicking game consistent and ensure the Bulldogs play the game out of their own end. If they can do that then there are plenty of points in the green machine.

Without Josh Jackson and David Klemmer, the Raiders should be able to have a much greater impact in the forwards, and this should help Sezer along.

Prediction
Canberra are at home, and have come out of the Origin selections better. With no Jackson and Klemmer, they should be able to get the job done if Sezer can control the kicking game.

Raiders by 6.
