Hello Roarers and welcome back to The Roar’s AFL MVP! Round 10 delivered some exciting moments, memorable upsets, and epic individual performances. Let’s take a look at who our team of live bloggers thought were the best of the best.

The votes

Sydney Swans 91 defeated North Melbourne Kangaroos 65
Blogged by Joel Erickson

3: Tom Mitchell – Easily the best game of his career, as he picked up 41 touches to go with 8 marks and 10 tackles. Also picked up five clearances and a goal in a complete performance.

2: Josh P Kennedy – 35 disposals, seven clearances and 12 tackles. 22 of his possession were contested, and he really set up the win with a massive first quarter.

1: Dan Hannebery – Hannebery was solid, if not spectacular. He had some great moments, but was also wasteful at times. However, you can’t argue with 34 touches and six clearances. Add an equal game-high eight inside 50s to that, and you’ve got yourself a good game.

3: Jordan Lewis – Had an absolute blinder in his 250th. 42 disposals, nine clearances, six inside 50s and a handy goal.

2: Cyril Rioli – His contribution can be over-valued at times, but he was a match-winner on Saturday. Playing primarily up forward, 19 touches, seven tackles and five big goals.

1: Shaun Burgoyne – 22 disposals at 82 per cent efficiency, seven tackles and five inside 50s playing from half back right through to half forward. Got better as the game wore on.

Melbourne Demons 76 defeated by Port Adelaide Power 121

3: Chad Wingard – The 22-year-old was all over the park today, causing headaches for the Demons at every turn. He slotted a couple of goals in the end to go with his 26 disposals, 10 contested possessions and four inside 50s.

2: Robbie Gray – Similar to Wingard, he was just a workhorse today, chasing the ball up and down the park and playing brilliantly through the midfield. A game high 28 disposals, 13 contested possessions, four clearances and an incredible five score assists.

1: Charlie Dixon – Could have gone with Jesse Hogan for the same reasons but I’m sticking with Dixon for this one. Bagged five goals up front in a dominant display from the beard. His side’s lead man in the forward 50.

3: Dustin Martin – It is impossible to go past Dustin Martin who was a clear best on ground in his team’s win with a personal best 38 disposals and 10 marks.

2: Brendon Goddard – The Bombers captain Brendan Goddard was back to his best on Saturday night as he floated between defence and the midfield, doing whatever his team required on the way to recording 34 touches, six marks and four tackles.

1: Brett Deledio – Deledio who set the game up in the first half for the Tigers with some of his trademark ability to hit the scoreboard and find lots of the footy – the veteran finished with 23 touches and three goals.

2: Taylor Walker – Was in it right from the get-go kicking a total of five goals, soaring high for 10 marks, taking 15 kicks, three handballs and 18 disposals. It was a brilliant night for the skipper.

1: Eddie Betts – Showed his skills and pulled a rabbit out of the hat after falling out of form in recent weeks with a massive five goals. Betts had some goal of the year contenders and made 15 kicks, 15 disposals, three marks and three tackles along the way.

2: Ed Curnow – 29 disposals with 23 uncontested possession, but this was no soft-stuff game from Curnow who had four clearances, laid nine tackles and also kicked a goal. Crucial.

1: Sam Docherty – Continued this excellent season he’s putting together off half-back, with 30 disposals, eight marks, six rebounds 50s, six inside 50s and a pair of goal assists.

Collingwood Magpies 53 defeated by Western Bulldogs 74

3: Luke Dahlhaus – Led all players with 37 disposals, and was generally a pest all around the ground. Not too many in the AFL provide better pressure than Dahlhaus, and it’s good to see him putting in some good performances.

2: Easton Wood – A pretty typical day for the Dogs’ stand-in skipper, as he took a few high-flying marks, and used the ball well all day. Had 21 disposals at 90 per cent today.

1: Jeremy Howe – A ‘passed the eye-test’ vote backed up by some good stats, Jeremy Howe controlled Collingwood’s half-back line for long periods today. Picked up 28 disposals, and seemed to stop everything the Dogs tried.

1: Nic Naitanui – Gave Tom Nicholls a lesson or two about ruckwork with 37 hitouts, and also drifted forward for a goal.
