The Gold Coast Titans will be looking to stay in touch with the top eight when they host the Manly Sea Eagles at CBUS Super Stadium. To keep up to date with the scores and all of the action join The Roar’s live blog from 7:00pm (AEST).

2016 has been full of surprises and one of those has been the success of the Gold Coast Titans, who many thought would be in for another tough year. The Titans have consistently proven they have the mental toughness to be competitive week in, week out.

They are coming off a disappointing loss to the Eels in Darwin but getting back on their home turf this week will undoubtedly give them a boost. To keep their finals hopes well and truly alive they will be looking to halves Tyrone Roberts and Ash Taylor to guide them to another win.

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Manly Sea Eagles this season, they coughed up a big lead to Penrith last week on their way to losing the game. Trent Barrett’s first year as coach at Brookvale will likely be remembered for the lengthy injury list that has haunted them and pushed them down to 14th on the ladder.

The Sea Eagles will be hoping to score a much-needed win this week so they will be looking to their stars in Brett Stewart and the Trbojevic brothers, Jake and Tom, to have big games.

In selection news, the Titans have lost Greg Bird to Origin selection, with Agnatius Paasi set to start at lock in his place while Ryan Simpkins returns to the bench. Nathan Davis also comes into the side and has been named in the centres and Konrad Hurrell has been named on the bench in the number 18 jersey.

For the Sea Eagles, they welcome back Martin Taupau, who replaces the injured Nate Myles in the front row. Jamie Lyon has been named at five-eighth in place of Dylan Walker, who is in camp with the Blues.

Walker, in particular, will be missed after a strong outing last week, and there will be a lot of pressure on Jamie Lyon to slot straight back into the halves. Taupau’s return to the Sea Eagles will give them a valuable up front against a Titans forward pack who know how to lay a good platform for their star young halfback Ash Taylor.

Prediction
Although Manly own an advantage in the overall head-to-head clashes and the meetings at CBUS Super Stadium, this year’s Sea Eagles team is far from the ones we have seen in the past.

This one could go either way but home ground advantage will help the Titans score a win over the Sea Eagles.

Titans by 4.

Will the Titans score another win at home or will the Sea Eagles secure a much-needed victory? Join us on The Roar from 7:00pm (AEST) Monday night to find out.
