Northern Ireland and Germany both have their tournaments on the line when they meet in the final match of the group stage for both teams. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting from 2am AEST.
Both these teams, amazingly, could finish anywhere between top of the group and missing out on the knockout stages altogether, depending on the results of this match and others to come.
Northern Ireland currently sit third in Group C, just one point behind Germany and Poland with all three teams on one win each but the other two having a draw between them to keep them ahead.
Win, and they will guarantee themselves a spot in the knockout stages. They may even go to the top of the group, if Poland lose or draw in their match against Ukraine.

Germany top the group currently – they’ve got level points with Poland but a better goal difference thanks to their 2-0 win over Ukraine.
A win here will make a progression to the knockout stage absolutely certain for them, and would likely lock in top spot in the group as well barring a multi-goal win by Poland.
However should they drop this one they could sink to third if Poland win or draw, and that would leave them battling with five other third-placers to make it to the knockouts.
Northern Ireland’s record form the tournament so far is a 0-1 loss to Poland and a 2-0 win over Ukraine. Germany also have a 2-0 win over Ukraine, and a draw with Poland.
Prediction
Both of these teams have the motivation to win with plenty of reward still on offer, so it probably comes down to the talent of the respective sides. Germany beats out Northern Ireland by a significant margin in that regard.
