Hungary and Portugal will meet in the final match of the groups stage for both teams. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting from 2am AEST.

Hungary have already qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament after their first two matches against Austria (2-0 win) and Iceland (1-1 draw).

Although they could potentially finish third in the group if they lost to Portugal and Iceland defeat Austria, their record would still be good enough to be one of the four third-placed teams to make it to the knockout stage.

Portugal on the other hand have it all to play for – they’re placed third in the group right now and could easily be overtaken by Austria if they beat Iceland today.

Overnight at the Euros:
» Ireland stun Italy
» Sweden heading home after loss to Belgium
» Iceland’s historic victory over Austria

They’re unlikely to finish any worse than third even if they lose today, but their current record would not be good enough to qualify from third place so they really need a draw or win here.

Even just a draw would almost certainly see them qualify, though with a win they could even go to the top of the group depending on how the other results come together.

Their record for the tournament so far is a 1-1 draw with Iceland and a 0-0 draw with Austria. Of the four matches played so far in this group, three have been draws.

Prediction
The situation of this match will probably dictate the result more than the strength of the two teams – with qualification assured, Hungary won’t be as desperate for the win, and will no doubt consider resting their key players.

Portugal on the other hand will know that they need to do something here to survive in the tournament. That impetus should see them driven to victory.

Portugal 1-0
