Pacific Nations Cup champions Fiji do battle against a Georgia outfit that has impressed significantly in its tour of the Pacific. Join The Roar for live scores from 1pm AEST.
Despite trailing in both their matches against Tonga and Samoa, Fiji finished strongly to claim victory en route to securing the Pacific Nations Cup.
Fiji’s ability to fight back from notable deficits is testament to the mentality of a side that competed strongly at the last Rugby World Cup in England.
Georgia meanwhile knows a thing or two about being competitive. The European nation continues to establish itself as a rising power courtesy of fine performances against both Tonga and Samoa away from home.
A draw and a win against Samoa and Tonga respectively proves that Georgia are beginning to develop the competitive nature required to perhaps leave a big mark come Rugby World Cup 2019.
With confidence and form on their side, Georgia will fancy their chances of producing an upset against Fiji. The Fijians are certainly the better ball playing team, but they have started their matches slowly this year and need to come out firing against a strong Georgia pack.
If Georgia are able to keep this contest close by the 60 minute mark, then they should be favoured to conjure up another great win.
Either way, another close contest awaits .
