England will look to go 2-0 up in their five-match ODI series with Sri Lanka when the two nations meet in Bristol. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting from 7:30pm (AEST).

A 2-0 lead would ensure for England they could do no worse than to tie this series, and would certainly put them in the box seat to claim a series win at some point in the remaining two matches.

Of course on the other side of that coin is the possibility that, if the Sri Lankans get the win today, the series would be tied up at 1-1 with two matches to play.

The first two matches of this series have seen a draw in the first match, played at Trent Bridge, and a win to England in the second, played at Edgbaston.

The first match was quite a thriller. Sri Lanka batted first and put up a very nice total of 9/286, and England ultimately could do no better, requiring a six on the last ball from Liam Plunkett just to match the Sri Lankan total.

The second match saw Sri Lanka bat first once again and put up a total of 254 but on this occasion the English openers came out and simply dominated in response.

Jason Roy put up 112 runs and Alex Hales found 133 as the two smashed their way through to an English victory with more than fifteen overs to spare and no wickets falling at all.

If England can get that kind of performance out of their openers once again in this third match, then the Sri Lankans will no doubt wither once again.

Prediction
England should get the win here, while Sri Lanka have been impressive at times so far in this series they still seem some ways behind their hosts.

England to win.
