Nick Kyrgios has secured his place in the second round at Wimbledon with a convincing three sets to one victory against Radek Stepanek.

The 21-year-old needed just under two and a half hours to account for the former world number eight, finishing the match with a strong fourth set, after dropping the third in a tightly-contested tiebreak.

Kyrgios had announced before the start of the tournament that he felt he had what it takes to go all the way in the tournament, and his confidence was certainly on display as he provided one of the shots of the tournament so far.

The moment came in the first game of the third set while Kyrios was leading two sets to love. With Stepanek serving, down 15-30, Kyrgios decided to show the crowd some of the on-court flair he has become so famous for, lobbing a tweener return over the head of Stepanek as he advanced to the net.

The shot landed just inside the baseline, much to the delight of the Kyrgios supporters in the crowd.

Final score:
Kyrgios: 6 6 6 (9) 6
Stepanek: 4 3 7 (11) 1
