Match preview:

They may be at the bottom of the table but the Carlton Blues and Collingwood Magpies are set to put on a show at the MCG when they clash in an all-Victorian battle. Join The Roar from 7:25pm (AEST) for live scores from the match and a blog of the game.

It will be Andrew Walker’s 200th appearance in the navy blue with the veteran named to come off the interchange.

The Blues will be desperate to regain momentum having lost two games in a row at the hands of St Kilda and GWS respectively.

The midfield battle will be crucial for the Blues, despite being without Marc Murphy. Patrick Cripps and Bryce Gibbs will need to step up.

Adam Treloar was outstanding last week during Collingwood’s 12.13.85 – 5.7.37 win over Fremantle with 33 disposals and seven tackles. He led the way for the Pies and must spark a similar effort against Carlton.

Last time these two bitter enemies went head-to-head, the Blues came away with a 25-point win 15.9.99 – 12.12.84 in Round 7 of this year.

Collingwood have dominated their last five meetings with this year’s win Carlton’s first in three years over the black and white.

Carlton sit slightly ahead of Collingwood on the ladder in 13th position, the Magpies only one place behind in 14th.

A win for the Pies will see them leapfrog Carlton based on percentages with the possibility of moving into eleventh place just behind St Kilda if results go their way.

Prediction
The Magpies will sneak home in a close battle at the ‘G.
