The form guide for both teams could not be any different with St Kilda only losing one of their past five and recording a big win against the Cats in the previous round.

In contrast the Suns have lost 10 in a row although signs are appearing they are going to turn things around after a positive display against the Hawks and Gary Ablett regaining some form in recent weeks.

Previous history shows that these games are not close affairs with only one game in the eight they have played being settled by less than three goals. This fixture may very well be able to add a second close result to that list.

Players to watch this week for Gold Coast – the answer is usually always Gary Ablett and this week appears no different however if you want to watch a different Gold Coast player then Tom J Lynch is your next best bet.

The young forward has been playing well this season and is on track for a personal best season goal kicking tally, needing just two more to beat his current record.

For St Kilda watch out for Maverick Weller who will want to send a message to his former team in his 50th game and get the win.

This game really does look too close to call on paper. The Saints are riding high after their win against the Cats and they will have all the confidence to topple the Suns.

However, with the Suns showing some fight against the Hawks and playing at their home ground they will hope to break the losing streak at 10.

Will the home town Suns get their season back on the winning track, or can the Saints back up their stellar performance from last week?
