The New South Wales Blues have swung a selection surprise for the second straight match in the 2016 State of Origin series, this time bringing Matt Moylan into the halves, taking the place of Jack Bird who will return to the bench.

Moylan played fullback for the first two games of this year’s series, being selected ahead of Josh Dugan while Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco was out with injury.

Bird, on the other hand was brought into the team as a bench utility for Game 2 and shone after Dylan Walker was elevated to the starting line-up with Josh Morris out through injury.

However, when the squad was named for Game 3 there was no Walker, no Morris and no Moylan, with Tedesco brought in at the back.

It was confirmed though that Adam Reynolds would be out with an injury he sustained during Game 2, bringing the need for a new halves combination. Matt Moylan was added to the squad as his cover, although when the team was named Bird was placed in the halves with Moylan expected to come off the bench.

Coach Laurie Daley has made the last minute swap, meaning Moylan will now start alongside James Maloney in the Blues halves, with Jack Bird returning to his Game 2 position off the bench.

Roarers, what do you think of this decision. Will Moylan do the job?
