A couple of absolute bolters knocked us out of the Quaddies last weekend but hopefully we can bounce back this week. I’ll be previewing the quaddies at Rosehill this Saturday, starting off with the early quaddie, with the legs being races two through to five:

Rosehill Early Quaddie

Leg One- #theraces Handicap (76) 1500m:

Looks to be good speed from the outside gates, which should mean a strong tempo. I’m taking on the topweight Suboric. Since the weights were raised topweights only have a winning strike rate of something between 5 – 10 per cent and with the tempo I am sure they’ll make him aware he has 61kg.

Suggestion: 4-6-7-9-11

Leg Two- TAB Highway Handicap (Class 2) 1200m:

Could of speed horses drawn wide as well as the inside, so once again the tempo will be even to good. 4 Deals ‘N’ Diamonds was dominant last time out at Canberra and strikes a winnable Highway. I think he’ll win, but I’ll cover myself.

Suggestion: 1-3-4-5-10-15

Leg Three- Schweppes Handicap (73) 2000m:

8 Esteban bolted up when leading all the way last start at Beaumont-Newcastle, and with no other speed engaged here, I am certain he’ll take up the running from the good gate. He is a leading contender, as are several others in what looks a tricky race.

Suggestion: 2-3-5-8-10-11-12

Leg Four- TAB Rewards Handicap (78) 1500m:

7 Choice Larga led all the way to win last Monday at Kembla Grange and I think he has the gate speed to take care of the wide gate. 10 Obsidian has been excellent in two runs this time in, and I’ll be bold and stand him out, because I think he is the best bet on the program.

Suggestion: 10

Leg One- Winter Stakes 1400m:

5 Oxford Poet looks to have the lead on a platter, which should give him every chance to run 1400m, but he has been too costly for me, so I’ll take him on. 8 Hidden Warrior looks the each way play in the race.

Suggestion: 1-2-3-4-8-9

Leg Two- Tab.com.au Handicap (93) 1200m:

4 Slade On Edge showed good speed to win a recent trial and though first up, I think he’ll have enough zip to come over. 3 El Sasso was very impressive here first up and was nominated for the Ramornie but instead tackles this weaker race.

Suggestion: 1-3-8-11

Leg Three- Pluck @ Vinery Handicap (85) 1350m:

8 Distraught looks the lone leader here and should take it up with perhaps 13 Bonete coming over from the outside gate without spending too much energy. 7 Thud looks a major contender but is rock bottom odds. Stablemate 11 Extensible has trialled well.

Suggestion: 1-2-5-7-8-11-12

Leg Four- McGrath Estaye Agents Handicap (77) 1200m:

They have the potential to go silly in front here with about half a dozen on speed runners engaged here. 14 No Bad Blood has trialled well leading in and should get a sweet trip. Each way all day IMO.
