We went close in both quaddies last week at Canterbury but, as always, three legs out of four.

I’ll be previewing the quaddies at Rosehill this Saturday, starting off with the early quaddie, with the legs being races two through to five:

Rosehill early quaddie

Leg one – Schweppes Handicap (82)
2000m

Loud Debate and Esteban look the speed runners. Esteban does look the one to beat, but $1.50 is far too short in a race which has more depth to what he has faced in recent times. Including a couple of others.

Suggestion: 5-6-8

Leg two – TAB Highway Plate (Class 3)
1500m

Speed looks a little unknown here. Perhaps Grand Rouge can roll forward from the wide gate. He was super last-start at Randwick and looks the one to beat, while the main threat is Explosive Scene, who was excellent last time out during the Grafton Carnival.

Suggestion: 1-8

Leg three – Casino Prince @ Vinery Handicap (85)
1350m

Flamboyant Lass should get the lead here on a platter as she should be at peak fitness now, so she has to be rated as a major threat. Extensible is my bet, but I’ll be having something each way on Frill Seeking.

Suggestion: 3-4-6-7-8-9

Leg four – TAB Rewards Handicap (72)
1200m

Putting the pride on the line and standing out Interstellar, a former Kiwi who is now with Team Hawkes. Form from across the ditch looked sharp and her recent Rosehill trial win was that of a classy animal.

Suggestion: 3

$50 investment: 138.88 per cent of the dividend if successful

Rosehill quaddie

Leg one – McGrath Estate Agents Plate
1400m

Dee Nine Elle was tardy away last weekend, but she should lead these with a clean jump. She is a contender, while We’re Sure comes back home after a super effort in the Creswick at Flemington.

Suggestion: 1-2-3-4-6-10

Leg two – Winter Challenge
1500m

Speed map again suggests that Oxford Poet will lead again comfortably. Himalaya Dream, on his old form, would roll forward too, but he looks to be best suited ridden with a sit. Ruling Dynasty and Sacred Master have each trialled well and are the watch horses.

Suggestion: 3-4-5-6-9

Leg three – Tab.com.au Handicap (85)
1350m

Looks as though we will get a strong tempo here courtesy of a couple of nippy customers, Nite Rocker and Slate On Edge. Chris Waller has a great record with horses on the seven-day turnaround, so my bet will be Avonaco.

Suggestion: 4-5-6-8-9

Leg four – NSW Racehorse Owners Association Trophy (72)
1100m

The picket fence horses Yasnat and I’m A Jet should have the speed to overcome that wide gates and be up front. Keen on Cheeky Babe, but the price of No Bad Blood looks a bit silly.

Suggestion: 3-5-6-7-10-13
