Hey Roarers after a difficult week last week with a few roughies getting up I’m back to preview both quaddies once again, with the early quaddie being races two through to five and the main quaddie being races six through to nine.

Hopefully we can get back on track this week and I can steer you into some winners! The highlight of this week’s card is the Bletchingly Stakes which is a Group 3 run over the 1200 meters with some handy horses to go around, not to mention a great supporting card.

Caulfield early quaddie

First leg – VOBIS Gold Stayers (2400m)
We kick off the early quaddie in a race for Super VOBIS eligible runners, this will be run over the 2400 meters for the stayers.

No.1 Authoritarian won well last start at Moonee Valley over the 2500 metres so he loves this distance and can win again, Dwayne Dunn on is a big plus.

No.2 Honey Steel’s Gold coming back from jumps racing where it had raced pretty well, loves getting over a bit of ground and the distance won’t worry him as he has placed in a VRC St Leger a few years ago, is a rough chance and could put some value into your multiples.

No.3 Bondeiger has been racing well and is third up here and up in distance so it looks ready to win, Weir/Williams combination enhances its chances.

No.4 Scherzoso can win again after a good win last start here a fortnight ago, untried at the trip but have to include.

No.5 Oncidium Ruler won like a good horse last start and he can win again, has also placed and won at this distance so that holds no fears for him, Brad Rawiller takes the ride from the injured Jake Bayliss.

No.10 O’lonera won here a fortnight ago defeating some smart three-year-old stayers, untried at the trip so it will be interesting to see how he goes definitely worth including, Nick Hall takes the ride from suspended rider Michael Dee.

Second Leg – Brian Reckas Handicap (1000m)
An interesting tough race we have here for the two year old sprinters. No.3 Crafty Cop resuming here, trialled on the 19th of July and looked pretty smart winning that by 2.3 lengths at Rosehill, the Dunn/Hawkes combination are pretty lethal when they team up.

No.4 Rampage from the Hayes/Dabernig yard with Dylan Dunn on board taking the two kilos off, he’s a pretty smart horse and trialled on 6 July finishing second in that trial but did not handle the heavy track at all, a firmer track and this guy comes right into calculations.

No.7 Nasdex was impressive winning at Geelong last start, Luke Currie stays on here. No.8 Kentucky Miss coming down from the Joe Pride stable in Sydney won pretty well last start at Wyong, Craig Williams takes the ride so must respect her.

No.14 Derryn is first up here but looks a pretty smart colt, scratched from a midweek race for this so the stable must have a high opinion of him, Regan Bayliss takes the ride and gets 1.5 kilos off its back.

Third leg – John Skewes Handicap (1200m)
Pretty interesting race here for the three-year-old fillies with a stack of winning chances. No. 2 Yasnat has won her last three starts since crossing over from the Mick Price stable to Canberra trainer Matthew Dale, won well last start at Moonee Valley and Dylan Dunn stays on here and gets two kilos off.

No.3 Anatola just missed a fortnight ago behind a smart one in Majestic Lass, Ben Allen gets the three-kilo claim so she will be hard to beat.

No.4 Giddyup represents some value and she could pull out a good fresh run, Regan Bayliss takes the ride and gets the benefit of a 1.5-kilo claim.

No.9 Sky Dazzle was ridden poorly last start and was a total forgive run prior to that her first up run was excellent when second at Moonee Valley, Beau Mertens takes over from Darren Gauci and gets the benefit of a three-kilo claim.

No.10 Carterista ran a huge race here in her first race start, she finished second behind Ocean Embers that day and we know how smart she is, Craig Williams takes over from Chris Parnham.

No.12 Deconi has been racing consistently as of late and wasn’t far off the first two a fortnight ago finishing third here at Caulfield, in-form jockey Ben Thompson takes the ride and gets the two kilos off.

Last leg – Helen Egan Handicap (2000m)
We are down to the final leg of the early quaddie and it is a race for the three-year-old stayers. No.1 Hursley is racing well and won at this track/distance two starts back.

No.2 Alamonteel another one who is racing well and won well over in Adelaide last start, gets the three-kilo claim for Jessica Payne who is in good form.

No.8 Bring A Rose was good here a fortnight ago finishing just behind the placings on that occasion, Dwayne Dunn takes the ride from Chris Parnham.

No.9 Perfect Lifeline coming from the same race as Bring A Rose and many others a fortnight ago was only beaten 2.8 lengths despite finishing 8th and just had no luck on that occasion, Regan Bayliss stays on and gets the benefit of a 1.5-kilo claim.

Suggestions: 1-2-8-9

Main quaddie

First leg – Debra Coombs Handicap (1200m)
A tough race for the fillies and mares to kick off the main Quaddie here. No.1 Vibrant Rouge hit form last start finishing third a fortnight ago at this track and distance, Beau Mertens takes the ride which is handy to utilise his three-kilo claim.

No.2 Forgeress has also been racing well as of late with a couple of placings her last two starts, gets the three kilos off for Jessica Payne.

No3 Rockolicious first up here for Darren Weir after crossing over from the Chris Waller is an interesting runner so you would have to include her.

No.4 Miss Softhands is a classy galloper but has had her issues, was sound first up and Oliver takes over the ride here.

No.7 Nadeem Lass has been consistent her last few runs and was narrowly beaten here a fortnight ago by the flying Beirut, Ben Thompson rides her again and gets the benefit of a two-kilo claim.

No.8 Butterboom from the Joe Pride stable in Sydney has been racing well over there and with Craig Williams on has to be respected.

Second Leg – Bletchingly Stakes (1200m)
We come to the feature race of the day where there are some handy horses involved here. No.3 Fast ‘n’ Rocking had no luck here a fortnight ago in the Sir John Monash stakes has drawn a wide gate which enhances his chance of winning, with Dwyane Dunn on he should relish the tempo up front and rocket home late to be in the finish.

No.4 Lord Of The Sky was good first up in the same race as Fast ‘n’ Rocking finishing fourth only beaten two lengths, Damien Oliver takes the ride from Patrick Moloney.

No.10 Mahuta was absolutely flying last preparation and things are suggesting that he is flying again he is first up on this occasion but that shouldn’t worry him.

No.11 Odyssey Moon has been racing well and consistently so it’s no surprise that he is right in the mix again.

No.12 Runway Star from the Phillip Stokes stable in Adelaide is first up here but did have a trial on the 8th of July in which she looked good in finishing second, Dom Tourneur crosses the border to take the ride.

Suggestions: 3-4-10-11-12

Third leg – Ladbrokes Odds Boost Handicap (1400m)
Very interesting race here for the three-year-old horses quite a few classy animals involved here but I’m keen on just the one runner. No.13 Wall Street Wolf this gelding has class stamped all over him, debuted at Flemington over the 1000 meters but had excuses that day and wasn’t beaten all that far away from the first two home, he then went to Geelong over the 1200 meters on the 5th of July where he still did a bit wrong but went to the finish strongly to win by eight lengths that day. Steps up to 1400 here but that shouldn’t worry him, Dwayne Dunn stays on after riding him last start.

Last leg – The Champagne Pommery Masters Handicap (1400 METRES)
Quite a tough affair to end things here but hopefully we are still alive going into this leg and we find the winner! No.5 Magicus is a lightly-raced horse from the Chris Waller yard having the six career starts for four wins and a second, Craig Williams rode him last start to a win at Moonee Valley and stays on here.

No.6 Caprese just missed a fortnight ago when beaten by I’m Ablaze, Oliver stays on and meets I’m Ablaze at level weights but he can turn the tables on that runner.

No.7 I’m Ablaze goes in for the reasons outlined above, as he just kept fighting to win here a fortnight ago.

No.8 Marwood was also in that race and wasn’t far away finishing fourth only beaten 0.5 lengths, relishes the sting out of the ground and should be swooping late to be in the finish.

No.10 Anyaas was good here a fortnight ago finishing fourth beaten 3 lengths behind Beirut and gets the 1.5 kilo claim for Regan Bayliss.

No.11 Fast Approaching has put in two shockers in her two first up runs although she wasn’t beaten far on both occasions she’s third up here and I’m willing to forgive her previous runs as she is better than that.
