Coach Trent Barrett has made no changes to his side with their premiership hopes hanging by a thread after a 20-12 victory over the Rabbitohs last week.

Daly Cherry-Evans will need to play a major part to get his team over the line with the former Australian international having failed to produce anything special for his team so far this season.

He could be joined by Dylan Walker with suggestions the State of Origin utility could make an early return from a hand injury that initially detailed a month and a half on the sidelines.

Walker will likely come up against Trent Hodkinson in the halves who has been one of the Knights’ best in 2016 despite a poor season.

He will have to improve however with this game against Manly crucial as they hope to avoid their second wooden spoon in a row.

Hodkinson will be without Jarrod Mullen who has once again sustained an injury, and is replaced by Jack Cogger at five-eighth.

Mitchell Barnett’s suspension sees David Bhana named in the back row while Jake Mamo and Daniel Saifiti will both return in the red and blue.

Saifiti must step up alongside Korbin Sims with Nathan Brown’s young forward pack gifted a real opportunity to dominate in the middle of the park against a weak Manly pack.

Jeremy Smith’s experience could also prove crucial with Newcastle offered a real opportunity to snatch a rare victory from the jaws of defeat.

In 26 meetings since 1998, the Sea Eagles have won 14 matches while Newcastle have been victorious on twelve occasions.

Last time they met, the Silvertails triumphed 26-10 at Hunter Stadium back in Round 8.

Prediction
Manly will waltz home with a convincing win and extend their winning streak.
