We went close in both quaddies last week at Rosehill but as always, the roughies were out in force.

I’ll be previewing the quaddies at Rosehill this Saturday, starting off with the early quaddie, with the legs being Races 2 through to 5:

Randwick early quaddie

Leg one – Powhf Roy Billing OAM Handicap (74)
2400m

Lie Direct looks the leader here and comfortably. He is the value in the race, especially with the claim for Deanne Panya, who is very good on front runners.

In a race with little depth, he will take some stopping.

Suggestion: 3-4-5-8

Leg two – Jockey Celebration Day Handicap (81)
1000m

Don’t Tease Me is a speed demon and should have no trouble leading this field, though the last 100 metres on a heavy track will be the issue. If Kangarilla Joy had less weight, I’d declare her. Three Sheets for me though in a really good race.

Suggestion: 1-4-5-7

Leg three – TAB Highway Handicap (Class 3)
1400m

No real designated leader here, so the pace of the race will be interesting. Attainment could seize the initiative with Avdulla remaining on. Big watch on Destined To Win, who had no luck last start.

Suggestion: 1-4-5-6-7-9

Leg four – Mark Moran Missile Stakes
1200m

Tycoon Tara had gate speed when trained by the Wilde team, but now with Team Snowden. She could be the ideal bunny to chase for the Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, who will take care of this lot.

Suggestion: 7

$50 investment: 52.08 per cent of the dividend if successful.

Randwick Quaddie

Leg one – The Randwick City Council Rosebud
1200m

Thronum was a touch tardy to begin with last start at Canterbury and that probably cost him the win. With a clean jump he’ll lead, with Uthred probably likely to take the sit behind. Really liked the way Quick Feet trialled and looks ready to run well fresh.

Suggestion: 1-2-3-4-6

Leg two – The Wallaby Cup (78)
1600m

Dark Eyes looks the leader here, with Quick Defence to get the sit behind that horse. The best each-way bet for the entire afternoon is Bring Luck – very good first up after missing the start and his Warwick Farm trial since was outstanding.

Suggestion: 2-3-6-7-8

Leg three – Powhf Directors Handicap (82)
1200m

Allez Cheval should lead, with a bit of pressure likely to come from Typhoon Jolie. Tremor probably isn’t the best mare in the race, but she is hard, fit and Brenton Avdulla steers. Big watch on Dixie Blossoms.

Suggestion: 2-4-6-10-11-12

Leg four – Rotary Club Of Botany Bay Handicap (78)
1200m

Race of the day, with several potential stakes class horses running. Chetwood and Haptic, based on the trials, look the speed. Keen on Chetwood. His trials have been the pick of any horse in Sydney in the last few weeks.

Suggestion: 1-2-6-11-13

$50 investment: 6.66 per cent of the dividend if successful.
