We’re two days into the Optus era of English Premier League coverage in Australia and, spoiler alert: it is not going well.
An enormous number of users are having problem accessing the service, and they’ve taken to social media to vent their frustration.
Are you one of the affected? Don’t worry, Optus’ social media team is here to help. Well, within a certain definition of ‘help’.
The most common explanation coming out of Optus at the moment is that their service is having “some issues with the feed coming from overseas.”
But if that’s not satisfying enough for you, don’t worry – “we definitely have our Technical team looking into it.”
Now let’s be fair: Starting up a brand new service, especially one on as large a scale as what Optus are attempting here, was always going to have some kinks to work out.
Hopefully with a bit of luck and patience, the problems will be resolved soon and EPL fans will be able to get back to doing what they love to do.
In the meantime, hell hath no fury like a football fan scorned! Check out some of these tweets on the subject and let us know in the comments how things are working (or not) on your end.

Looks like Optus is kicking goals with the EPL broadcast so far… Lucky villa was relegated & I don't need to bother with that train wreck

Please Optus, give back the EPL rights to @FOXSportsAUS now and I'll forget that you tried to ruin a good thing for so many sports fans.

It's a serious problem when people can open a dodgy third party site and get a better quality and more up-to-date stream than Optus

.@Foxtel If I chucked in a few extra bucks could we re-bid for the Premier League? I'd go to Optus but I want a phone that works.
