Ahoy Roarers! We went close in both quaddies last week at Rosehill but hopefully we can snare one, or ideally both, this Saturday. I’ll be previewing the quaddies at Randwick this Saturday, starting off with the early quaddie, with the legs being races two through to five:

Randwick Early Quaddie

Leg One – Randwick Mayors Cup (72) 2400m:

Lie Direct and Paragon are two horses who like to push forward and run along, so it’ll be interesting to see who wins that early battle. They both look leading contenders in what is a very tricky race to kick off the early quaddie.

Suggestion: 1-2-3-4-5-6

Leg Two – TAB Highway Plate (Class 3) 1600m:

Get the dart board out and hope for the best. New Divide, who I thought was brave last week at Tamworth, can roll forward. He is an each way play, but my bet is Destined To Win, who will improve big time on top of the ground and is the crazy overs at $21.

Suggestion: 1-7-8-11-14

Leg Three – Primo Smallgoods Up And Coming Stakes 1300m:

Thronum went forward and got the job done in the Rosebud, and he should control the speed here quite comfortably. Derryn is the favourite but for mine seems very short for a horse who has only a Winter ratings race. Divine Prophet has trialled well, as has Kent.

Suggestion: 1-2-3-4-6

Leg Four – Alpha Flight Services Silver Shadow Stakes 1200m:

Zeladys Night Out and Thyme For Roses are two nippy fillies who should press forward and generate good speed. If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll notice I’ve been heavily talking up Omei Sword. In my view there is a Group 1, and perhaps more, in store for her this Spring and I think she is a clear standout here.

Suggestion: 5

$50 investment = 33.33% of the dividend if successful

Randwick Quaddie

Leg One – Bob Ingham Show County Quality 1200m:

Looks to be good speed here. Vashka is a push forward type and will be up there, as will last start Missile Stakes winner Tycoon Tara. I think the value lies with Famous Seamus, who looked very sharp in a recent trial and the firming surface will play into his hands.

Suggestion: 1-4-5-6

Leg Two – Warwick Stakes 1400m:

Given he is the only noted sprinter/miler in the race, Rebel Dane should be leading these easily. What more can you say other than Winx? Her trials have been great and she looks to have come back in great order. The picket fence should continue.

Suggestion: 6

Leg Three – Forum Group Toy Show Quality 1300m:

Back in trip and hard fit, Frill Seeking can sit close to the tempo while I think Christian Reith will push forward from out wide on Satya. Keen on Dixie Blossoms, who has trialled great, but the danger could be another hard fit mare, Elle Lou.

Suggestion: 1-3-4-5-6-7

Leg Four – Sydney Markets Foundation Handicap (85) 1000m:

If this track was rock hard, I think the track record would be given a serious nudge given how much speed is engaged here. The pick of the triallers has been Haptic and Southern Legend, while Rose Of Man is fit and will love the tempo in front of her.

Suggestion: 2-3-11

$50 investment = 69.44% of the dividend if successful
