The Netherlands will play Great Britain in the gold medal match of the women’s hockey competition at the Rio 2016 Olympics Games at 6am (AEST) on Saturday, 20 August.

If you are wanting to view the women’s hockey gold medal match, it will be potentially broadcast live on TV on the Seven Network and will certainly also be available via a live stream online, or using the Olympics on 7 app.

The Seven Network has exclusive rights to televise events from the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and is doing so on all three of its channels – 7, 7TWO, and 7mate.

However given that Australia failed to qualify for the event, Seven may decide not to put it on their television coverage. If they do, it will likely not be on the main channel.

For that reason, your most reliable option for viewing the event is going to be watching it via a live stream. This is possible to do via one of two different routes.

Your first option is to watch the live stream online – simply go to Seven’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games live-streaming website and select the appropriate channel.

The other choice is that you can instead use the Olympics on 7 app. This gives you access to the same live stream on mobiles or tablets, and is available on both iOS and Android.

The basic live stream service gives you access to the broadcast of all three of Seven’s television channels. However, the ‘premium’ package will give you access to virtually every event of the games.

To unlock the premium service, you can either access it completely for free if you happen to be a Telstra customer, or you can pay a fee of $19.95 to do it.

So in short: if Seven elect to broadcast the Netherlands vs Great Britain women’s hockey gold medal match to one of their channels, you’ll be able to watch it on TV or live stream it via the free service.

If not, you’ll need to access their premium content and live stream it through that method.
