Out-of-favour Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah is available to play in the reserve grade finals series, the NSWRL has determined.
With one round remaining in the NSW Super Premiership, Wests Tigers have already qualified for this season’s playoffs.
Farah was dumped to reserve grade by Tigers coach Jason Taylor last month and has been languishing there on his $950.000 a year salary since.
The NSWRL have announced his is free to play in the first week of the finals, which starts in a fortnight a week before the NRL’s final series.
However, NSW rake Farah will only be available to play after that if the Wests Tigers NRL side’s slim finals chances come to fruition.
“Robbie is eligible to play the first week of the Super Premiership finals,” the NSWRL said in a statement.
“He will only be able to play any remaining finals games if the Wests Tigers make the NRL top eight and if he has already played in the first week of the NSW Super Premiership finals.”
Farah’s future beyond this year remains up in the air. He remains contracted to the Tigers. But he has been strongly linked to a move to South Sydney where his brother Eddie is a member of coach Michael Maguire’s support staff.
