The Premier League is but two weeks old. The new managers have come in and stamped their marks on the respective teams, but there have been a couple of shock results as well.

There are still two weeks left in the transfer window, so there’s sure to be more comings and goings across the clubs.

Below are the winners and losers from the latest round of football:

WINNERS:

Manchester City – “Stoke away” seems to be one of those games that previous City teams would fear, they’ve been beaten on more than one occasion there, but this time they took them to the cleaners. After a scrappy opening day win against Sunderland, Pep’s team certainly sent a message here.

Hull City – The much maligned Tigers have started the season in superb fashion. Their opening day win over reigning champions Leicester was superb, backing it up with a 2-0 away win at Swansea. A team that was expected to struggle for any points this season currently boasts a 100 per cent record.

Burnley – Another team expected to struggle. Burnley got past Liverpool 2-0 with a Premier League record low of 19 per cent possession. This game very much proves the age old adage, it isn’t how much you have it, it’s what you do with it.

Any win in the Premier League is big, but beating one of the more fashionable teams in the League is a huge fillet for Burnley and will give their fans a massive lift.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – That’s four goals in three games now for Zlatan. He’s certainly living up to the hype that surrounds him everywhere he goes.

He’s putting to bed the rumours that he’s too old and just a marketing ploy by United. His second goal was an imperious header that shows the Big Swede certainly still has a lot to offer.

LOSERS:

Liverpool – After the furore of beating Arsenal at the Emirates in Week 1, they came down to earth with a huge bump at Turf Moor. This inconsistency plagued Liverpool all season last year and they need to iron this out if they’re going to challenge for a coveted Champions League spot.

Joe Hart – City’s win with Willy Caballero in goal does nothing for Hart’s position at the club. With rumours rife that Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo is incoming and Caballero currently performing more than adequately, it certainly seems if Hart’s days at Etihad Stadium are numbered.

Sunderland – With Newcastle relegated last season, Sunderland fans are still being treated to a North-East derby after Middlesbrough won promotion. Unfortunately, the Premier League new boys took the spoils from the Stadium of Light, a result that has prompted manager David Moyes to say that they’ll be in a relegation dogfight again this season.
