The final match in the first week of the NRL finals will see the Penrith Panthers take on the Canterbury Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on Sunday, September 11 with kick-off scheduled for 4:10pm (AEST).

Because the match hasn’t been scheduled for the usual Sunday Afternoon 4pm kick-off, it is likely to kick-off right on time so the finish of the match lines up with Channel Nine’s news requirements.

The Panthers finished the season in sixth position while the Bulldogs finished in seventh, setting them up for this elimination final.

The match will be the second elimination final with the loser bundled straight out of the competition, and the winner advancing to play the loser of the second qualifying final between the Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks next weekend.

The Panthers will enter into the match as the favourites to get the win. They are at $1.77 with betting companies while the Bulldogs are out to $2.73.

On free-to-air TV, the match will be broadcast by the Nine Network with their coverage of the match beginning at 3:30pm (AEST).

Fox Sports, who have rights to the NRL finals for the first time ever have their coverage scheduled to begin at 3:20pm (AEST) with the Sunday Ticket, however this could be delayed due to their Holden Cup commitments.
