The match has come about after the two sides endured differing fortunes in the first week of the 2016 NRL finals series.

The Canberra Raiders hosted the Cronulla Sharks in the qualifying final but were unable to get the job done, defeated by two points.

That left them scheduled to play the winner of the elimination final between the Panthers and the Canterbury Bulldogs.

A strong second half from the Panthers saw them come away from that match as the victors and earn a spot in the semi-finals.

Now it is down to this meeting to see which team will progress though to the preliminary finals.

The winner of this match will play the Melbourne Storm next week for a spot in the grand final.
