It’s that time of year again. Footy Finals are finishing, most of our teams have been eliminated and the weather is heating up.
That can only mean one thing. Australia is gearing up for another glorious summer of cricket. Here is an overview of what we have to look forward to in the ever-growing, women’s cricket season.
WNCL
The women’s domestic one-day competition, called the WNCL begins on the 13th October with New South Wales taking on South Australia. This series, like the series above, sees our finest women vying for national spots.
Due to the introduction of the WBBL last season, the WNCL is expected to thrive with much bigger crowd attendances. Seven teams will be competing but instead of a National Performance Squad, an A.C.T team will compete.
There are two short breaks throughout the competition, which means it doesn’t conclude until December third. You can view the WNCL via the Cricket Australia Live App.
WBBL|02
The women’s big bash grew the popularity of women’s cricket profoundly last season and that trend is expected to continue.

Each team will play 14 matches, with the first match to be the Hobart Hurricanes taking on the Perth Scorchers. The final is 28th January.
