Fight preview

Cris Cyborg will be looking for her second UFC win when she takes on UFC newcomer Lina Lansberg in Brazil. Join The Roar from 12pm AEST for live round-by-round action.

It’s been years since Cris Cyborg has been beaten in MMA, and it’s never happened in her days in EliteXC, Strikeforce or the UFC.

Arguably the greatest ever female fighter, Cyborg’s UFC stint was called late due to there not being a 145 lbs division for women. The UFC has agreed to let Cyborg fight at 140, as the cut to 135 lbs was dangerous.

Cyborg made good on her promise in her UFC debut, destroying Leslie Smith in the first round with strikes at UFC 198 in Brazil.

Lina Lansberg is coming off six-straight wins since losing her professional debut, and has been nothing short of confident in the build-up to this fight.

Four of Lansberg’s six wins have coming via TKO due to strikers, with her deadly elbows have earned her the nickname of ‘elbow queen’.

Prediction
Cyborg is the superior fighter all around, and the jump in competition might by far too much for Lansberg to handle. Expect another decisive win for Cyborg.
