“I think everyone agrees, me included that we would love to see Kieran Foran back on the field in the National Rugby League,” Greenberg told Triple M on Saturday.
“But we also have a duty to ensure that in the best interest of the player and the broader game, for him to return there are a number of things that we will expect to talk to him about.
“It is now a matter of the integrity unit to work through that process with Kieran and now with the Warriors and we will do that.
“I would say that will take some time for us to be comfortable that we can make that decision on his contract.”
Foran walked out on a multi-million dollar deal with Parramatta earlier this year due to personal issues.

His close relationship with gambling identity Eddie Hayson is also of concern to the NRL.
“The first thing we need to do for Kieran is to get him into a good place and let’s be fair, it has only been a couple of months since he quit the game,” Greenberg said.
“So we will want to be sure that he has overcome all of the issues that drove him out of the game in the first place.
“In addition I think there are some other off-field matters which will need to be worked through before we would consider registering that contract.”
