Brendan Fevola - still a dead-eye after all these years!
The 2016 AFL Free Agency period opens up in just four days. So who are the players eligible to move during this time? Here we have every free agent listed, and their status – restricted or unrestricted.
» Every trade rumour, all in one place!
» Key dates for free agency and trades
» Every club’s draft picks
Unrestricted free agents are free to move to the club of their choice without any impediment. Restricted free agents, however, must wait for the current club to match, or decline to match, the offer the free agent has received.
If their current club matches then they are forced to seek a trade – however, this is yet to happen so far in the time that free agency has existed in the AFL.
The majority of the players listed below are expected to either re-sign with their current clubs, or retire.
However, a few look likely to change clubs.
Richmond’s Tyrone Vickery is expected to join Hawthorn, and North Melbourne’s Daniel Wells is likely to join Collingwood. And there are a few other players in the list exploring their options as well.
Here is the complete list, club-by-club, of every player eligible for free agency as we approach the beginning of the free agency period.
