Pakistan look to keep their foot to the floor in the ODI series against the West Indies and close it out with another clean sweep as they build to the Test matches. Join The Roar for live scores from 10pm (AEDT).

Pakistan have been on fire ever since returning home from their tour of England, having defeated the West Indies 3-0 in the T20 series and then winning the first two matches of this series.

Babar Azam has led the charge batting at first drop during the one-day series, scoring a century in each innings and generally not looking troubled by the West Indian attack, which it would be fair to say have been lacking a lot.

After winning the first match by 111 runs, Pakistan came out primed for the second in Sharjah, winning the toss and electing to bat first before smashing 337.

On top of Azam’s 123, Shoaib Malik and Sarfraz Ahmed scored 90 and 60 respectively at over a run a ball.

Jason Holder and Sunil Narine were the only bowlers who didn’t go at over six runs per over, and even then it couldn’t be said that they bowled well.

In reply, many of the West Indies batsmen got starts, a far cry from the previous matches when only Marlon Samuels scored runs, as they were eventually knocked over for 278.

Samuels was again among the runs, scoring 57, although he was out-scored by Dwayne Bravo who had 61 from 74 to his name. None of the other batsmen could get past a half century though and ultimately it proved to be their undoing.

Three run-outs didn’t help either, and it proved that the West Indies are a team who aren’t enjoying their tour whatsoever. Imad Wasim was again the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, and he was strongly supported by Wahab Riaz.

If the Windies are to come back in this series, then it is all down to how their batting order stands up; they need someone to convert a start into a big score, as Azam has done for Pakistan.

Prediction
Pakistan are playing fantastic cricket, and the longer this tour has gone on, the worse the West Indies have got. This could be very one-sided.

Pakistan in a canter.
