Liverpool could possible take top spot on the Premier League table with a win over Manchester United at Anfield. Join The Roar from 6am AEDT for live scores.

Coming off a 2-1 win over Swansea City, and coming off five wins in a row, Liverpool will be confident they can dismantle an inconsistent Manchester United side.

Liverpool conceded early against the Swans, but second half goals via Roberto Firmino and James Milner secured the Reds the win at Liberty Stadium.

The Reds have lost each of their last four Premier League matches against Manchester United, however after knocking them out of the Europa League back in march, Liverpool hold the bragging rights.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also has a positive record against Red Devil’s manager Jose Mourinho, only losing one of his past five meetings against the eccentric coach.

Coming off a 1-all draw with Stoke City, even a win for sixth-placed Manchester United might not be enough for them to break into the top four.

Anthony Martial scored for the Red Devils in the second half, but a late Stoke goal broke the hearts of United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will have history on their side however, having beaten Liverpool 27 times in the Premier League, more than any other club.

The last time these two sides faced off was in March, in the Europa League. Martial found the net in the 32nd minute for United before Coutinho equalised right on half time for the Reds. The match ended 1-all, but Liverpool won 3-1 on aggregate.

Prediction
When Liverpool’s attack is on form, they are close to unstoppable, and the same can be said about the Red Devils. However, both sides have been quite vulnerable in defence this season. This match will be won in the defence, no matter which way it goes.

Liverpool 1 – 1 Manchester United
