Tick tock, tick tock. There’s two days left of the AFL trade period, and still a huge number of deals left to be done.

»All the trade rumours
»List of free agents
»Every trade and free agency move

The lastest in AFL trade rumours is that the majority of these deals seem to be nearing completion, with a good chance that by the end of the day, Dion Prestia, Jaeger O’Meara and Bryce Gibbs will all have new homes.

Prestia is likely to join Richmond, along with a second-round pick in this year’s draft, in exchange for pick No.6 from Richmond and the Tigers’ 2017 second-rounder.

O’Meara’s deal isn’t clear, but he may get to the Hawks without them giving up another player – instead they might swap pick No.10 and a later selection for him while the Suns will look elsewhere for a mature recruit.

There was some talk about Essendon trying to make a play for O’Meara, but this doesn’t seem likely to come off – the Bombers would need to convince him to accept a trade he’s unlikely to consider.

Gibbs should land at the Crows for Adelaide’s pick No.13 and then a future pick as well – either the Crows’ first or second from 2017, possibly with a pick from Carlton coming back.

Three deals were done yesterday.

The first was Pearce Hanley officially moving to Gold Coast in a three-way swap that saw Port give their 2017 first-round pick to Brisbane, and secure picks No.19 and No.30 in this year’s draft.

The Suns and the Lions both seem to have done well out of the deal – Gold Coast getting Hanley cheap, and Brisbane what could be a top-ten pick next year for him. But while Port have successfully got themselves back into this year’s draft, they’ve done so at what looks like a poor return – especially if they miss finals again next year.

The Roarers shared that view in our poll – 41 per cent said the Lions were winners, 33 per cent voted for the Suns, but less than 10 per cent believed Port win out in the deal.

Jordan Lewis officially joined Melbourne for a bargain price, effectively traded for a few minor pick upgrades in the latter rounds of the draft.

No surprises in the voting there – 80 per cent said that Melbourne won the deal and it’s hard to argue with that.

Lastly, Fremantle picked up Joel Hamling from the Western Bulldogs for pick 35 and a few pick swaps later in the draft.

Two-thirds of voters believed the Dockers win the trade, and if Hamling can show the kind of form he did in finals across the rest of his career that will certainly be right.

A few other little bits of news that cropped up yesterday:

Billie Smedts might be a part of the trade that gets Zach Tuohy from Carlton to Geelong.

Tom Lamb is likely to stay with West Coast despite rumours he might move home to Victoria.

Josh Green is unlikely to be traded, but could still move clubs via delisted free agency or the pre-season draft.

Toby Nankervis wants a trade to Richmond in search of greater opportunity.

Darcy Gardiner has re-signed with the Brisbane Lions for another three years, so won’t move clubs.

Collingwood are likely to pick up Melbourne’s Lynden Dunn to improve their key defender depth.

James Stewart has officially nominated Essendon as his preferred destination for a trade.

Jarryd Lyons is deciding between either re-signing with Adelaide or moving to Gold Coast.

Will Hoskin-Elliott will either move to Collingwood or stay with Greater Western Sydney, despite interest from North Melbourne.

Xavier Richards doesn’t have clear destination despite requesting a trade on Monday.
