From the current position of both sides, Pakistan are the raging favourites to come away with a win over the West Indies in the second Test of this series. Join The Roar for live scores from Day 3 of the match, starting from 5pm (AEDT).

Pakistan went in to bat first in this match and set a significant total for the West Indies to chase, ultimately recording a total of 452 runs.

That was impressive given they lost openers Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali for a combined total of just six runs – they recovered well after that to gift the vistors a total that won’t be easy to chase.

Younis Khan was central to this with 127 runs, and he had a 175-run partnership with Misbah-ul-Haq who himself finished just narrowly short of a century on 96.

Shannon Gabriel took five wickets for the West Indies, Jason Holder three, Devendra Bishoo and Kraigg Brathwaite both chiming in for singles.

The West Indies have since batted out 45 overs after they came in, and have struggled to create any strong partnership at the crease.

Four wickets have fallen, and the pair of Brathwaite and Marlon Samuels both fell in the last two overs before stumps yesterday.

Bishoo and Jermaine Blackwood will start at the crease today, having so far faced just four balls between them, and neither so far recording a run.

All things considered, after winning the first Test in comfortable fashion, a second win – and with it, a guaranteed series victory – looks likely for Pakistan.

It probably won’t come today, but barring any hostile weather, you’d expect them to make significant progress.
