Young excellence, promotion battles, and a happy farewell: The Australian team of the week from players around the globe
Even though St.Pauli ultimately lost a high-scoring affair, Jackson Irvine was a standout, as well as scoring a late goal.

Australia will be keen to get a win in this match in order to continue their campaign for qualification in the 2018 World Cup, to be held in Russia.
To do so they need to try and stay inside the top two of their group – which also contains Saudi Arabia, Japan, the UAE, Iraq and Thailand.
At the moment the Aussies have four matches done, six to go, with two wins and two draws seeing them sit just narrowly ahead of Japan and the UAE, and behind Saudi Arabia.
A win here will make it certain that they remain in the top two for the time being, but they could slip as low as fourth if they were to lose.
It’s still possible to qualify for the world cup from third in the group by winning a series of playoff matches, but the ideal result for Australia would be to avoid that process entirely.
“It’s a really tight group,” said Soccerroos coach Ange Postecoglou.
“If we play well tomorrow night and get maximum points, we’re on 11 points after five games.
“I think regardless of what the others do, we’ll be in a good position knowing we got three home games next year, plus Iraq at a neutral venue (Iran), so we’ve really only got one away game (against Japan) in the back half.
“We’ll let the others fight it out but we’re certainly not looking at what the other teams are doing. We think from our perspective, it’s in our hands and a strong performance (against Thailand) and a win, we won’t have to worry about anyone else.”

What if we celebrated all of the achievements big and small, and weeded out those hell-bent on bringing down a game that is doing a hell of a lot right?
A good performance from Michael Ruhs, scoring twice to beat Macarthur and doubling his season goal tally in the process.
