#4 Ryan Bader will be looking to edge closer to a shot at UFC gold when he takes on Brazilian legend #9 Antonio Rogerio Nogueira for the second time. Join The Roar from 1pm (AEDT) for live coverage and round-by-round updates.
After having his stunning five-fight win streak snapped by Anthony Johnson, Ryan Bader has bounced back with a performance of the night knockout win over Ilir Latifi.
Bader, who has been knocking on the door of a title shot for some time, is looking for one last big push towards UFC glory.
Standing in his way for now is the legend, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Nogueira has been in the UFC since 2009, but has never had the chance to fight for UFC gold.
Now at the age of 40, this could be Nogueira’s last chance to push towards a title shot.
Nogueira’s record in the UFC is inconsistent, however the Brazilian has recently snapped a two-fight losing streak with a huge knockout win over Patrick Cummins. It was his first finish since he stopped Tito Ortiz back in 2011.
Bader and Nogueira fought back at UFC 119 in 2010, where Bader got his hand raised via a unanimous decision.
Prediction
Nogueira is nowhere near the fighter he once was, and Bader still has a lot of fight left in him. However, neither man is particularly explosive. Expect Bader to grind out a decision win, or get a late stoppage.
Ryan Bader to defeat Antonio Rogerio Nogueira via unanimous decision.
