In a tight group, Juventus currently trails Sevilla by two points with Lyon a further four points back.

If Juventus fail to pick up a win in Spain, Lyon with a victory over Dinamo Zagreb could potentially close to within a point of the reigning Serie A champions approaching the final match day.

Having failed to beat Lyon in Italy, Juventus face a tough ask against Sevilla away from home. Under Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli, Sevilla have adopted an aggressive high-pressing approach and are now playing a very attractive brand of football.

Sampaoli’s methods at Sevilla have proven effective so far, and he continues to solidify himself as a great coach after previously leading Chile to Copa America glory in 2015.

Juventus will most likely have to withstand plenty of pressure during the opening stages of tonight’s contest. A fortnight ago, Sevilla pressed FC Barcelona considerably and eventually took the lead before losing 2-1.

Only the brilliance of Lionel Messi on that occasion however allowed Barcelona to escape with all three points. For Juventus to succeed tonight, players such as Juan Cuadrado Miralem Pjanic, Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira will have to work overtime in midfield to match Sevilla’s high work rate.

The absence of strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala hurts Juventus. Such absence also places added pressure on Mario Mandzukic to provide the clinical edge required upfront to convert opportunities in a match where chances could be limited for the away side.

Sevilla meanwhile are well served up front with Luciano Vietto, Vitolo and Samir Nasri all in relatively good form. Vitolo in particular will prove a tricky opponent for established defenders Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

Prediction
At home, Sevilla will prove a tough nut to crack for a Juventus team missing key strikers. Back the La Liga outfit to secure a vital win.
