Western Sydney Wanderers and Brisbane Roar will renew their rivalry when they face off in tonight’s A-League fixture at Spotless Stadium. Join The Roar for live commentary and scores from 7:50pm (AEDT).

Both sides come into the contest on the back of draws last week, Western Sydney snatching a point late against Melbourne City and the Roar becoming the first side to take points from Sydney FC.

This will be the first time these two teams have met since last season’s epic semi-final, where the Wanderers won 5-4 in extra-time to reach the grand final, with both starting to build an interesting rivalry, having tasted success.

Brisbane’s scoring power will come into question. Coach John Aloisi’s side suffered a loss to the Newcastle Jets in Round 2, but that has been their only defeat for the year.

The Wanderers sit on just one win, but should have had two considering Karem Bulut’s goal was incorrectly disallowed last week. The Wanderers also come into this game with the competition’s equal-worst goal difference and equal-worst defence.

Could this see Brisbane open the scoring floodgates?

Brisbane’s Michael Theo says the Wanderers have been unlucky this season.

“They’re playing some good football but probably without the results they would like,” the Roar goalkeeper said.

“I’ve said before that in this league every game is difficult. There’s never an easy game and this weekend against the Wanderers is going to be no different.”

With both sides playing out some crackers against one another, this should be no exception. Spotless Stadium also brings some intrigue to the game as it’s the first time the two sides have met at the venue.

Prediction
Considering how close these two sides have been for a long period, they can’t be split.

An exciting 2-2 draw.
