The Wallabies were beaten 27-24 by Ireland in the early hours of Sunday morning (AEDT), thanks largely to first half that was dominated by the home side.

Ireland raced out to a 17-0 advantage and if it hadn’t been for a try to Dane Haylett-Petty in the last second of the opening half, the Wallabies would’ve entered the main break scoreless.

Remarkably, they fought back in the second half to briefly claim a four-point lead, and then looked to hold on for what would have been a famous win.

However, one last try from the Irish saw them take a three-point advantage which they refused to let slip until after the match ended.
