The AFLW’s boom opening round has prompted a venue change this weekend, with Ikon Park to host a double header.
Collingwood’s home game against Melbourne, originally scheduled for Olympic Park, will now be Saturday’s second game.

Carlton will host Greater Western Sydney at Ikon Park from 3.35pm and the Collingwood-Melbourne match will start at 7.40.
The AFL predicted about 12,000 fans would attend last Friday night’s inaugural women’s competition opening match between Carlton and Collingwood.
Instead it was a lockout – about 24,500 fans showed up and AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan went outside the gates to apologise as hundreds more were turned away.
“Following the great attendances of the opening round last weekend, we want to make sure those who wish to attend the AFL Women’s matches this weekend can do so,” said AFL development manager Simon Lethlean.
“We have worked closely with the venue, clubs and the broadcasters to ensure the changeover period between the two matches is appropriate.”
Lethlean also warned fans to take public transport to Ikon Park on Saturday.
He said there would be no public parking on the Princes Park lawns surrounding the ground because of Carlton’s family day.
The Herald Sun has reported last Friday’s match provided a parking fine windfall for the local council.
All four women’s games this weekend will again feature free entry.
