The NRL grand final has finally arrived, with minor premiers the Melbourne Storm set to take on the team who finished eighth, the North Queensland Cowboys. The match is set to be played at ANZ Stadium, with the scheduled kick-off at 7:15pm (AEDT) on Sunday, October 1.

No team from outside the top four has ever won in the NRL-era, with the Cowboys looking to become the first team to do so after falling into the finals thanks to other results.

The Storm have been the dominant side in the NRL though and are out to avenge last year’s grand final loss to the Cronulla Sharks, when they came up agonisingly short.

Broadcast information

The game will only be able to be watched on the Nine Network in Australia as they are the exclusive broadcasters of the NRL grand final. Unlike every other game during the season, apart from State of Origin, Fox Sports don’t have the rights to the final.

Channel Nine will be broadcasting all day, covering the earlier matches as well, however, they will return to grand final coverage following the news at 6:30pm (AEDT) – 45 minutes before kick-off – to cover the build-up.

Nine’s coverage is then scheduled to run until 10pm (AEDT), allowing for them to take in the presentation and all the post-match reaction.

If you want to stream the match online, then the only way to do this will be through the NRL live pass, which allows you to stream every game of the season.
