Australia’s greatest motorsport race, the Bathurst 1000 is upon us. While the race itself isn’t until Sunday, there is a full four days of action for us to sink our teeth into with the Supercars Championship battle also starting to heat up at the pointy end of the season.

Bathurst 1000 live blog

After a second place finish behind Cameron Waters and Richie Stanaway at the Sandown 500, Scott McLaughlin, who is driving with Frenchman Alexandre Premat for the endurance season, leads the Championship by more than 100 points to Jamie Whincup.

Fabian Coulthard, Chaz Mostert and Shane Van Gisbergen round out the top five in the championship, with 300 points on offer for the winner of the Bathurst 1000.

The weekend will see six practice sessions, a qualifying and shootout, before the race on Sunday. There are also plenty of support acts, making it a full four days on track.

Broadcast information

The race itself will be broadcast in Australia on both free-to-air TV (through Network 10) and pay TV (through Fox Sports). However, the only way to watch every session across the whole four days will be on Fox Sports. Fox Sports coverage will be available on Channel 506.

Their coverage is comprehensive, while Network 10 will begin their coverage on Friday at midday (AEDT).

Here is a guide to coverage times for both networks this weekend.

If you want to watch coverage on Foxtel, then you will need a valid Foxtel TV subscription with the sports package included.

For those looking to stream coverage, the best way will be to use one of Foxtel’s dedicated streaming applictions. If you are only looking to stream channels of Foxtel, then Foxtel Now is your best option, with sports packages starting from $29 per month.

If you already have Foxtel on TV, then the Foxtel App should be free for you to download and use.

Although you can usually stream Channel Ten’s coverage through the Tenplay website, this will not be the case for Bathurst.

For those in New Zealand, you will need to use Sky Go to stream the action, while those outside Australia and New Zealand can use Superview.

The Roar will also be providing a live blog of every Supercars’ session from Friday to Sunday.
