Australia have been denied the chance to score an upset T20 series victory over India after the final match was abandoned without a ball bowled due to a wet outfield.

Umpires were unhappy with a handful of patches of Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and deemed the ground to be unsafe for play early on Saturday morning AEDT.

Ground staff used pedestal fans to try to dry the surface on the day before the match, but the surface never looked likely to

The series finished tied at 1-1.

It is an anti-climactic finish to a tough tour for Australia after they lost the one-day internationals 4-1.
