In the final game of Round 7, Brisbane City will look to keep their winning form going as they host the Melbourne Rising. With kickoff at 5pm (AEDT), The Roar will keep you updated with a game preview and live scores.

The young Rising team continue to struggle, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of the Canberra Vikings. While they are improving, they constantly fail to capitalise on their talent or opportunities.

The Rising are out of finals contention, and can only hope to build on their cohesion for a run at next year’s title now. Lack of experience was always going to be an issue for this team, not to mention the inconvenience of having players in and out of the line-up due to Wallabies commitments.

Last weekend, Lopeti Timani did not have the impact expected of a returning Wallaby. He worked hard, making 14 carries, but the dominant Vikings pack really limited him. He is still the key to a good performance for Melbourne, so look for him to have a good crack today.

Brisbane City had a good outing against the Rays last week, scoring eight tries in an attacking clinic.

The Brisbane boys are starting to click, and at just the right time too, fifth on the ladder and one win away from being in the top four. With a roster packed with talent, this City side may just be the sleeping giant that upsets the competition.

Karmichael Hunt looked comfortable back in a rugby jersey for the first time since the Wallabies’ June Test series. Playing at inside centre, he displayed his typical, balanced game, with a particular flair in defence.

Prediction
This will be the closest game of the round – Brisbane should have the edge but the Rising will come out strong after an admirable performance last week.
