The Everest exceeded expectations at Randwick on Saturday and the race itself was a beauty. The support card was excellent while at Caulfield, we saw a stunning result in the Caulfield Guineas, as well as seeing the Oaks winner.

Zamex – Plain first-up run, but he was much better here. Made ground in the worst part of the track and looked to win. Condition just gave way. He’s back on track to win some races.
Stunts – I think Godolphin has a really nice two year old on their hands here. Looked to go about his business nicely and showed a nice turn of foot. Just ran out of puff late. He will be winning races.
Suncraze – He’s been up a while, but I’d love to see him go to Melbourne and tackle some blacktype. He’s very good and once again did a great job from the back. Also want to mention Le Cavalier. His run was also good, quickest last 600m of the race.
Impending – One of the better beaten rides of the day. Cuddled out the back, poked his way through the field and savaged the line. He’s on track to give them a shake in the big Melbourne sprints.
Happy Clapper – Can’t sugarcoat it. The ride cost it the race. Could have had a sweet run just off the pace, but instead he dragged back to near last. He will run well in the Cox Plate.
Forget
Reginald Allen – Looked a plain race on paper and it was a bunched finish… in terms of the rest of the Spring, I can’t see this being a strong form reference.
Follow
Counterplay – Covered a stack of extra ground yet still rattled off some of the best splits of the race against the tempo. Excellent run and I think with a bit of give in the track next time, she can win.
Legless Veuve – Pulled up lame, so a clear forgive.
Orient Line – Eligible for much easier, but he produced some outstanding sectionals late in the piece. If placed right, he can win some races for sure.
Aloisia – Been touting her as the Oaks winner and after her Thousand Guineas win, she’s the one to beat for sure. Dominant win, and did it with a break between runs.
Kementari/Royal Symphony – Kementari was enormous, covering extra ground, copping a severe bump on the turn. Hit the front and got lost. As for Royal Symphony, he nearly should have gone close to winning. Both wouldn’t look out of place in the Cox Plate.
Egg Tart/He Or She – I want to be forgiving of Egg Tart. Being held up isn’t her go. She needs momentum building. He Or She was the sleeper. Warming to the task late and his sectionals were very good.
Hellbent – Clearly clocked the fastest 600m of the day and given the way the track played, his run was outstanding. He’s spot on to have a knockout assault on the Manikato.
Forget
Attention – A stud career in North Queensland might be on the cards. He’s done next to nothing this time in.
