Massive day of racing across Australia this Saturday, namely the ten race card at Caulfield for Caulfield Cup. We are looking for five winners for the afternoon, so here are the five bets for the weekend.

Bet One- Win- Randwick Race Two Number 6 Kaonic
$2.70 is very acceptable. He does have that look about him as if he is going to be a really good horse in the future so I’m keen to see what he does here because this race has been used as a lead up to bigger and better things.

Okay, he didn’t beat much last time out at Canterbury, but he made a long searching run and ran down the tearaway leader. Randwick mile is perfect and he should be open to improvement.

Bet Two- Each-Way- Randwick Race Four Number 2 Havana Cooler
I can’t get Alward at odds on so the play in the Tatts Cup is Havana Cooler at $13 e/w. I thought his run in the St Leger last Saturday was very good. Loomed as a place chance halfway down the straight but just ran out of puff.

Should be hard fit now, he draws to sit out the back and have last say, and really, this is a thin race compared to what he has faced.

Bet Three- Each-Way- Doomben Race Two Number 2 Lady Sioux
I think the $10 on offer is a crazy price for a mare who is a swimmer. Been a bit frustrating since coming back to Steve O’Dea but a track with give in it and tempo should see her go close here.

She ran over 1200m at the Sunny Coast and I liked the way she closed off her race with purpose to run second to in form mare My Girl Hayley. Loves a track with give and she’ll get it here.

Bet Four- Win- Doomben Race Three Number 2 My Diamantine
Think the $5 on offer is well and truly overs. Brian Smith trained mare who was unlucky two back in the Stayers Cup at Ipswich behind Loving Home before going to the Metropolitan where she was far from disgraced I thought behind Foundry. That’s Group 1. She drops to a weak open handicap in Brisbane. Surely the right form.

Bet Five- Win Multi- Morphettville Parks (R2No1/R3No2/R4No1/R6No7)
About $15 all up and I am confident we’ll go close here. I think Manuel should win given he has improvement from last weeks win.

Dollar For Dollar also has improvement and should win. Paseeto has improvement also and should take of a thin race. That leaves Embecee Lil.

I thought she was excellent in defeat last time over the 1250m when getting too far back and trying to chase down Street Embrace. Up to 1300m is ideal and I’m really keen on her.
