These are the 11 men who stood out in Round 16 of the A-League.

Here is my starting XI, playing in a 4-4-2 formation: Andrew Redmayne, Ryan Strain, Nigel Boogaard, Harrison Delbridge, Corey Brown, Ben Halloran, Ben Kantarovski, Alexander Baumjohann, Nikola Mileusnic, Max Burgess, George Blackwood.

Goalkeeper
Andrew Redmayne (goalkeeper, Sydney FC)
Melbourne Victory had eight shots on target, but Redmayne managed to keep a clean sheet with some quality saves.

Defenders
Ryan Strain (right back, Adelaide United)
Strain worked tirelessly down the right hand side.

Nigel Boogaard (centre back, Newcastle Jets)
Boogaard showed great leadership in his first game back from injury.

Harrison Delbridge (centre back, Melbourne City)
Delbridge showed that he is a quality player curtailing the influence of Perth Glory in their final third.

Corey Brown (left back, Brisbane Roar)
Brown was outstanding for the Brisbane Roar, scoring the only goal of the game and making many marauding runs forward.

Midfielders
Ben Halloran (right wing, Adelaide United)
Halloran made many runs forward on the right hand side.

Ben Kantarovski (centre midfield, Newcastle Jets)
Kantarovski played a lot of good passes and showed that he still has something to offer at A-League level, if his performance in Round 16 was the start of a trend and not an aberration.

Alexander Baumjohann (attacking midfield, Sydney FC)
Baumjohann was involved in most of Sydney FC’s attacks and was a walk-up start in the team of the week, despite getting sent off late in the game.

Nikola Mileusnic (right wing, Adelaide United)
Mileusnic scored a brace, which helped his team claim all three points.

Strikers
Max Burgess (striker, Western United)
Burgess was responsible for many of Western United’s attacking forays, with his good work bringing about two of the three goals scored by his team.

George Blackwood (striker, Adelaide United)
Blackwood finally played in his favoured position of striker and rewarded the decision by playing a part in two of the three goals.
