It was the same problem last year coming up to finals time, the Bulldogs had made it into the eight on defence but this year they needed to put forward a lot more points to be competitive. Something definitely needs to change, and I don’t think adding another forward to a team already filled with beefed up players is not the way for the Bulldogs to improve.

It's time for a change at the Bulldogs

At the end of last year the Bunnies looked to be on the way up when they beat the Bulldogs convincingly, but I reckon Inglis’ knee injury really rattled their form, as well as being compounded by the team’s offensive strategy. However, sometimes changing the coach isn’t the right way to go. Just look at the Warriors, who swap their coaches more often than they wash their jerseys. That said, other times it’s a breath of fresh air, like the emergence of Paul Green at the Cowboys. In any case, South Sydney does have to make some changes during the pre-season if they want their performances to pick up.

Evolve or die. Is it time for Maguire to go?

Thanks for all the feedback, Ben Hunt is an international player, I apologise for the proofreading error. Bearfax and Crosscoder have a good point that the NRL aren’t in the best possible position regarding grassroots funding, they are only surviving because of the sheer revenue their gambling deals generate. That means it is even more important that Greenberg and the entire top management exercise caution around player payments and the salary cap, as well as funding for the top 16 clubs, so that a sustainable balance is generated.
